Sustainability at Boozy Fox 🌱

We’re a small brand, and we don’t pretend that making and shipping clothing has no environmental impact.

What we can do is make more thoughtful choices about how we produce our products, how much we make, and what happens to the materials along the way.

That starts with our made-to-order model.

Made to order

We don’t produce large quantities of shirts in advance and hope they sell.

When you place an order, it is sent to one of our production partners, who prints or embroiders your items and prepares them for shipping. This means products are made when they’re actually needed, which helps us avoid unnecessary unsold inventory.

It also means your order may take a little longer to arrive than something sitting ready-made in a warehouse. We think that trade-off makes sense.

Printing

Many of our printed products use direct-to-garment (DTG) printing. Instead of printing large batches of designs in advance, the design is printed directly onto the garment when an order is placed.

Our production partners use Kornit printing technology for many DTG products. The inks used for these products are water-based and meet relevant safety standards, including OEKO-TEX® certification where applicable.

Printing methods and equipment can vary between products and production locations, so we avoid making one broad claim about every item in our catalog.

Embroidery

Some of our designs are embroidered rather than printed.

Our production partners use OEKO-TEX® certified embroidery threads for these products. Embroidery can also provide a durable finish that is designed to last through regular wear and washing.

Materials

We’re gradually expanding our range of products made with organic or recycled materials.

Products that meet our current criteria for these materials are marked with our ECO symbol in the store. The exact materials used are listed on the individual product pages.

We’d rather be clear about what each product is made from than call everything “eco-friendly” without context.

Packaging

Our apparel products are shipped in post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic mailers.

The percentage of recycled content varies depending on where an order is fulfilled. Currently, the outer mailers contain at least 50% PCR material, while the clear inner bags used for multi-item shipments contain at least 30% PCR material.

PCR plastic is made from plastic that has already been used and recovered for another purpose. Using recycled content can reduce the need for new plastic compared with packaging made entirely from virgin material.

A work in progress

We don’t think sustainability is something a brand can simply declare and be finished with.

There’s always more to learn, and our production partners, materials, packaging, and processes will continue to change over time.

For Boozy Fox, the goal is simple: make things people genuinely want, produce them when they’re needed, avoid unnecessary waste where we can, and be honest about the parts we’re still working on.

That’s our approach for now, and we’ll keep improving it as we grow.
